We are a long established club with a good cross-section of members who pride themselves in having an outstanding safety record. The site is idyllic for the pursuance of Radio Control model flying. Fixed Wing “Sport” and “Scale” flying are our main interest. The site is easily accessed by motor vehicles and visitors are encouraged, but please, contact us first, for further information and instructions.
21/10/2021 - Due to the COP 26 climate change conference flight restrictions are in place. These effectively prevent us flying at Kirknewton from 23:59 on 30th Oct to 23:59 on 13th Nov.
15/3/2021 - New Scottish Government Covid rules allow flying to restart. Members must still register to attend the airfield.
6/1/2021 - following advice from the SAA and SportScotland LMAC recommends that you do not fly until the Covid situation improves.
28/9/2020 - New Covid 19 rules. Members must register to attend airfield. Click here for the new guidelines.
1/6/2020 - Following the Scottish government announcement on 28/5/2020 and subsequent RAF approval of our Covid 19 guidelines we can now use the airfield again. Click here for the new guidelines.
We are fortunate to have one of the best flying sites in the Central Belt of Scotland and situated within easy reach of Scotland’s Capital City – Edinburgh, and of course, it’s International Airport.

The club has the privileged use of a full sized tarmac runway, surrounded by extensive grassed areas.
